Last modified on Oct 17, 2013

UDOT has awarded the second of three construction packages addressing restoration of the state Route 14 corridor between Cedar City and Cedar Breaks National Monument to Kiewit Infrastructure West.  Construction activity continues to increase on the project.

900 Cubic Yards an Hour • This week workers on the Restore14 project are moving an average of 900 cubic yards of material an hour. This rate will increase significantly in the next few weeks as the project progresses. Crews working on a drop structure in the water channel at the west end of the project have now placed 1,400 yards of rip-rap to protect the structure. Meanwhile, workers on the west end of the slide have started seeding the top and are seeding and mulching along the cut slopes of the main slide area.
